Coordinator/Assistant Professor, Physical Therapy Assistant Program

224 Duty Days – Tenure Track

PTA Program Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director and is responsible for the day-today management of the PTA program. This include implementation of the approved PTA curriculum; maintaining accreditation processes of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Keep informed of changes affecting programs as mandated by accrediting agency; maintaining program quality in the spirit of continuous quality improvement (CQI); and, providing opportunities for students to acquire the knowledge, practice, and skills, identified in the course objectives. Other duties include teaching courses in the Physical Therapist Assistant program, advising students, reviewing course syllabi, lesson plans, tests, course offerings and sequences. The PTA Program Coordinator must also maintain communication with relevant healthcare facilities, promote positive relationships and Conduct student follow up surveys. A Master's or higher degree with at least one degree in the field of Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Assistant. didactic and/or clinical teaching experience; management/administration experience; at least nine (9) credits of coursework in educational foundations or completion of APTA's Educational Leadership Institute. Holds a US license/certification as a Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Assistant; minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience; Community College teaching experience preferred
