The award-winning Dallas Observer is looking for a news editor to lead and manage its small but scrappy reporting team, long known for holding local power brokers' feet to the fire and serving as North Texas' leading independent news source.

The ideal candidate for the job will have at least three years of editorial management experience and a firm basis in SEO and social media strategies, as well as an appreciation for the Observer’s unique role in the Dallas media ecosystem. We are looking for someone with an instinctual knack for daily digital journalism, the judgment and temperament to supervise and motivate reporters, and the ability to write and edit quickly while maintaining high standards. This is a full-time management position with an annual salary of $70,000-$75,000, depending on qualifications.
