The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist is a Human Resources systems expert and is responsible for maintaining the company’s current HRIS system, Ultipro. This individual works closely with the members of the HR team to be sure information is maintained and compiled according to company policy and practices. This individual will be the company’s resident human resources system expert and will handle data and information needed to stay compliant. This individual will also enter data for new hires, leaves, terminations and work closely with payroll.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain and update employee data in the HRIS - currently Ultipro. Troubleshoot HRIS application when necessary.
Provide formal training on Ultipro to employees on human resource data.
Works with Director to maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensured policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Participate in the new employee on-boarding experience.
Maintain records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
Prepare, and analyze HR reports. Prepare monthly HR reports to track and report new hires, separations, and employee population data. Audit for accuracy and communicate to other organizations and management as needed.
Assist with administering the performance management process including the communications and training for the annual and 90 days performance reviews.
Respond to notifications from state agency regarding unemployment claims filed by former employees. Reviews claims and prepare for hearings and appeals.
Utilize knowledge of organization structure and HRIS system to prepare Organization Charts and audit for accuracy.
Maintain confidentiality of data and sensitive information.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, plus a minimum of 3 years related experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree, SHRM PHR or SPHR preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge of Human Resource systems such as ADP, and advanced internet skills.
