This recruitment will be used to fill Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) and/or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) positions. The TLT/SDA is anticipated to last till December 30, 2022 with possible extensions.
In order to hire and maintain a quality workforce that reflects the diversity of the community and works well within our True North values-based organization, the Permitting Division of the Department of Local Services (DLS) is accepting applications for the position of Business Finance Officer I.
This person will be responsible for contributing to the production and execution of reporting in accordance with federal, state, county and department requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, and experience with Oracle EBS or other similar financial software, extensive experience using Microsoft Excel and other quantitative tools for revenue, expenditure, and operations monitoring.
This recruitment will be used to fill special duty assignment (SDA) or term-limited temporary (TLT) positions. As with Career Service and SDA positions, the TLT positions will have full benefits.
This recruitment may be used to create an eligibility list for future Business Finance Officer I Career Service, TLT, and SDA vacancies. Lists may be active up to 6 months at the discretion of the hiring authority.
WHO MAY APPLY: This full-time position may be filled as Term Limited Temporary (TLT), and is open to all qualified applicants, or Special Duty assignment for current King County Career Service employees who have passed their probationary period. Current King County employees must have permission from their supervisor to be eligible for the Special Duty assignment.
Pay upon SDA placement: Current employees selected for SDA will be compensated based on the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement or Master Labor Agreement for their base assignment if applicable.
WORK SCHEDULE: The work week is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may at times require work outside of normal business hours and/or on weekends. This full-time position is overtime eligible.
The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly by teleworking; complemented with onsite work and meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities.) Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations.
