The Beat Reporter will cover the UW football and basketball teams and other sports when appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Write breaking news, features and enterprise stories.
• Build audience loyalty, engagement and growth through video, blog posts and social media.
• Develop an awareness of what people are sharing and talking about on social media.
• Develop sources from the university and around the Pac-12 and local high schools.
• Conduct interviews and gather information.
• Write headlines for self-published biogs and stories.
• Use SEO on all stories, blog posts.
• Night and weekend work required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • College degree. • At least three (3) years of daily newspaper experience, preferably having covered a pro or major college be at.
