INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH ANALYST
SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York. The College has over 7,700 students annually, and services over 6,100 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs. An additional 1,600 students are served through the College’s workforce and non-credit programs.
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking candidates for the full-time, 12-month position of Institutional Research Analyst. The Institutional Research Analyst performs qualitative and quantitative data compilation, analysis, and reporting to support the continuous improvement of the College. Reporting to the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, this position supports the efforts of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to meet the information and planning needs of a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the College’s compliance for reporting requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree in an analytic field, such as Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or other related degree with demonstrated ability to compile, manipulate, and analyze large-scale data sets required.
Experience in data collection including the administration, analysis, and interpretation of surveys required. Strong mathematical and data analysis skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
Two (2) to three (3) years of experience working with data reporting and statistical analysis is required. Experience in a higher educational institution, preferably in institutional research is desired.
Familiarity and experience with using data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Power Bi); experience with and knowledge of SIS and reporting software are desired. Ellucian Banner and Argos are preferred. Experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, Minitab) and statistical analysis, knowledge or experience related to computer programming are desired. Experience in predictive analytics is preferred.

The minimum annual salary for this position is $59,991.
