Curriculum Sales Representative reports to: Summit National Director of Curriculum Sales

Classification: Full time/Non - Exempt;

Location: On site preferred, but remote acceptable

Summary of Position

The Curriculum Sales Representative provides sales development for curriculum in the Christian school channel. This currently consists of Summit curriculum including Building on the Rock, Lightbearers, Understanding the Times and The Cultivate Project and Secret Battle of Ideas About God professional development courses. This position is primarily phone and internet based. The majority of the phone calls are made to individuals who have expressed interest in one or more products, however, prospecting and cold calling may also be required as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Responsibilities:

• Develop daily, weekly and monthly goals to enable fulfillment of yearly sales quota

• Curriculum sales via phone and internet.

• Organize accurate record of prospect contact and cultivation on the ministry Customer Relationship Management (CRM) web-based software package.

• Follow-up with prospects on a timely basis, upgrading them towards a decision for ministry curriculum in their respective schools.

• Efficiently organize time and sales presentations so as to call prospects each day, as determined by the Director of Sales.

• Present the ministry of Summit and its products with the highest professionalism and accuracy.

General Responsibilities:

• Help maintain and improve procedures within the curriculum department. Promote and foster high standards of faith, integrity, and productivity throughout Summit Ministries.

• Assure consistent brand image and communication to all relevant constituents both external and internal.

Knowledge & Experience

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or related.

Previous Experience Requirement:

Minimum 3 years of experience in sales. Past experience in working with Christian schools preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong faith in Jesus Christ, grounded in the Holy Scriptures, and demonstrated integrity.

• Possess strong phone selling skills.

• Ability to persevere through weeks of consistent calling schedule.

• Understands, embraces and is able to articulate a biblical worldview.

• Commitment to the mission of Summit Ministries.

• Ability to clearly communicate sales and product concepts.

• Ability to close a sales opportunity, maximizing the relationship.

• Spirit of serving Christian schools and their mission.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Working knowledge of web based, CRM products, such as Sales Force, or similar.

• Advanced communication skills, organized and concise reporting techniques.

Relationships:

Will establish and maintain the following relationships and be responsible for proper observance:

• With the National Director of Curriculum Sales: Serve as sales advisor to the Director and keep him advised of relevant updates regarding assignments.

• With the ministry President, Vice President of Publishing and other department Vice Presidents and staff: Maintain supportive and communicative relationships. As support staff, provide quality, cooperative, and effective service in a timely and proactive manner.

• With departmental employees: Maintain supportive and communicative relationships. As support staff, provide quality, cooperative, and effective service in a timely and proactive manner.

• With fellow employees: Be mindful of the welfare of all Summit Ministries employees, working with them as required in a spirit of humility and servanthood.
