Job Details:
  • The Cedar Manor Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with resident care and medication management.  The CNA provides personal care services, assistance with ADL's, and environmental and social support to meet the needs of our residents and to create a caring and safe environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.

    §  Communicates in verbal and written reports information that relates to and are planned and delivered to the residents

    §  Direct basic nursing care is provided for assigned residents under the direction of a licensed nurse

    §  Complete/assist residents with all activities of daily living

    §  Offer emotional support and comfort to residents, as needed

    §  Maintain facility laundry and complete housekeeping activities, as assigned.  Disposes of all soiled linen in the laundry room in an appropriate and timely manner

    §  Ensure vital signs/weights are taken in a timely manner

    §  Accurately and clearly report any observed changes in resident status

    §  Answer call lights and respond promptly to personal requests by residents

    §  Assist with admissions by orienting new resident/family to room and facility

    §  Ensure resident room is kept in order

    §  Accurately and timely record TPR, I&O, WTS and nourishment intake, as assigned

    §  Accurately completes resident care assignment with assigned shift

    §  Demonstrates effective documentation/communication skills

    §  Complies with established resident care standards.

    §  Maintain confidentiality of resident information

    §  Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services

    §  Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care

    Education and Experience

    Minimum Required Education:  High school diploma or equivalent, and successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program

    Experience: 2+ years' experience preferred, but will consider newly graduated applicants

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Applicant must be licensed to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and must be certified in CPR and First Aid.
