We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic hands-on Rail Building Operating Engineers (BOE) in the Rail Division of King County Metro Transit. Building Operating Engineers perform skilled day-to-day operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of facility heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and related building systems for Metro Rail facilities while providing the opportunity to be exposed to a diverse set of operating systems and technology. Selected candidates will be assigned work on a range of facilities located throughout King County and learn various systems.
Vacancy Information
This recruitment will be used to fill immediate career service (CS) positions and may be used to create an eligibility list for future CS, TLT and SDA positions that may occur. Eligibility lists are valid for twelve months, or until exhausted, at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Work Location
Selected candidate will report to Rail Operations & Maintenance Facility and assigned to work at multiple locations throughout King County.
Work Schedule
Career Service employee work schedules and locations are based on a seniority "pick" system, which occurs twice a year. Employees must be able and willing to work any shift, including any combination of days off, at any location. Positions to be filled by this recruitment are non-exempt and therefore eligible for overtime pay.
