Part Time position available. Monday-Friday 20 flexible hours per week. Responsibilities include preparing and posting GL journals, including PR, CR, AP and adjusting entries; monthly bank reconciliations; monthly credit card statement reconciliation; and monthly billing of developer project statements. In addition, the Part-Time Bookkeeper acts as a backup to the Receptionist as needed, including answering the phone, routing calls, typing of correspondence, responding to citizen concerns, and assisting with filing and archive management, especially as it pertains to the annual financial audit. Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required; in particular the ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets. Prior accounting experience is required; previous municipal, non-profit or fund accounting experience a plus. High school diploma required; associate's degree a plus. This position requires the ability to prioritize, excellent organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a busy environment.
