Senior Planner/Project Manager

MetroPlan Orlando, the metropolitan planning organization for Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties is seeking a Senior Planner/Project Manager. This position works within the Department of Transportation Planning.

The Senior Planner/Project Manager will manage transportation planning, modeling and forecasting activities including major transportation consulting services on specialized projects as identified in the Unified Planning Work Program.  Duties also include managing technical studies, consultant teams, and internal staff.

The Senior Planner/Project Manager will be:

• Responsible for preparation and scheduled updates of the Long Range Transportation Plan
• Responsible for ensuring that provisions and initiatives included in the adopted Long Range Transportation Plan are tracked and completed
• Responsible for ensuring consistency between the Long Range Transportation Plan, local comprehensive plans, our Prioritized Project List and Transportation Improvement Program
• Responsible for managing the Long Range Plan amendment process, as necessary
• Responsible for the coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation on the transportation forecasting models
• Responsible for integration of freight, goods and services mobility planning into the transportation planning process
• Manage consultant contracts

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in urban planning, public administration or transportation planning and five (5) years of relevant experience. Project Management Experience required.
